Tennessee Health Link launches, mental health case management eliminated

Over the last several months the Center prepared for the largest change in TennCare since the inception of the Medicaid waiver program in 1996. On Dec. 1, the Center’s leadership and clinical staff launched the new program known as Tennessee Health Link which offers care coordination for TennCare patients with behavioral health and physical health needs. This shift in health care delivery follows the national model of integrating care as the future of health care design. The Center, in joint efforts with our statewide association, continues to advocate for adequate reimbursement to ensure our patients have access to meaningful health care services. The evidence is consistent, community care (case management/care management), in conjunction with professional outpatient services, results in better outcomes for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.
