Annual Fund Campaign

The Helen Ross McNabb Center merged with the New Hope Recovery Center in Morristown, TN nearly four years ago and began offering substance abuse and mental health treatment in Hamblen County.  Today, the McNabb Center delivers life-improving services to children, adults, and families though intensive outpatient and residential programs. In 2012, more than 1,000 individuals in Hamblen County will receive treatment from the McNabb Center.

Since opening our doors in Morristown in 2008, the McNabb Center has identified an urgent and growing need to expand our facilities.  Currently, services are offered at two separate locations due to space limitations.  Additionally, the McNabb Center has been forced to convert what were once spacious community meeting rooms into treatment rooms in an effort to keep up with the demand for services.  In response to this need, the McNabb Center and its Foundation have made plans to develop a permanent, stand alone mental health treatment facility in Hamblen County. These plans took an enormous leap forward when Morristown City Council donated a 2.5 acre site to the McNabb Center in 2011. This generous gift demonstrates the value of the McNabb Center as a resource to the community and our history as a true community partner.

Our plan is to develop, construct, and furnish an approximately 7,000 square foot facility to both centralize services and provide us with adequate operating space.   The completion of the new clinic will increase the facility's service capacity by 50%, ultimately increasing access to care for individuals living in rural communities who frequently fall through the cracks of the healthcare system.

Co-chairing this campaign are Mike Fishman and Denise Terry Stapleton.  Mr. Fishman is the publisher of the Citizen Tribune, a local newspaper in Morristown, and is also a Foundation Board Member.  Mrs. Terry Stapleton is an attorney and the former Co-Chair of the Evening of Hope comedy event, which raises funds to support HRMC's services in Hamblen County.  Both chairs are respected members of the Hamblen County community and have been successful in securing funds to support programs that encourage health and success.

With a growing number of residents experiencing financial hardships and scarce treatment resources, the need to develop our new facility becomes more urgent than ever. To give to the Annual Fund Campaign, click HERE!
