Endowment
What is an endowment?
An endowment is an appropriate gifting tool to be used where you would like to create a fund which stays in existence for a lengthy period of time, and continues to provide charitable benefits to the charity of your choice for many years to come.
Once your endowment is established, the Helen Ross McNabb Foundation will set up the fund and pay a fixed percentage of its annual value to the designated recipient or program each year. Earnings over the fixed amount are reinvested, building the fund over time. Because use of the fund is restricted to a small portion each year, the fund can be a legacy to the charity from you for many years.
Endowments help strengthen organizations financially so that important life-changing programs are supported and sustained.

- Endow a specific population such as children, adolescents or adults
- Endow specific service areas such as counties or cities
- Endow critical positions needed to provide quality care such as a Board Certified Child Psychiatrist

How does the McNabb Foundation use an endowment to make a difference?
The majority of children and adults served by the Center experience the most severe and persistent mental illnesses but have the least resources to treat or manage their illnesses. These two characteristics make the Center's daily to yearly challenge that of organizing and delivering quality services. We readily accept this challenge and see it as our role in the community.
An endowment provides the opportunity to ensure quality care is available to the least fortunate and most vulnerable in our community. Children and adults who suffer from mental illnesses or addictions can and do get better. Just like Mrs. Helen Ross McNabb, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to receive quality and compassionate care, regardless of the ability to pay.
