About the Foundation
The Helen Ross McNabb Foundation was founded in 1972 solely to support the work of the Helen Ross McNabb Center. Foundation goals include providing financial assistance for the Center's programs and services and to help the Center provide services more cost effectively.
The Foundation Board raises funds, invests funds and informs the community about the programs and services at the Helen Ross McNabb Center.
The Helen Ross McNabb Foundation provides support through:
- Planned Giving - A service of the Foundation is charitable planned giving. This program offers information on the importance of financial planning, incuding options such as bequests, trusts, gifts of assests and estate planning.
- Endowment Funds-The Helen Ross McNabb Foundation's Endowment Fund provides a stable source of income for the Center for the future years.
- The Annual Fund - The Annual Fund enables the Foundation to provide monies for specific projects of the Helen Ross McNabb Center. This includes tributes (gifts in honor or memory of an indivudal) and general donations to the center and donations to a particular McNabb Center program.
- Special Events -The Helen Ross McNabb Foundation presents several special events throughout the year which raise funds for the Center and promote the Center through media promotions and event coverage. These include the Southern Exposure Cardboard Sled Race in February, The Herman Gettelfinger Bass Tournament in April, The My McNabb House Gvieaway in April, the Pat Summitt Golf Tournament in June and the Russell Biven Sporting Clays Tournament in August.
- Walk of Hope -is a program where individuals and companies can purchase an engraved brick for $75. The brick is engraved with a name or sentiment and then installed in the Walk of Hope at the Children and Youth Center. These fund also go to support programs at the Center.
Since 1948, the Helen Ross McNabb Center has cared for the people in our area who have no where else to turn. Traditionally, the Helen Ross McNabb Center's patients are those who are the sickest of the sick and the poorest of the poor. The Center provides a large amount of charity care, but we can't do it alone.
