Speakers Bureau

The Helen Ross McNabb Center provides speakers to community groups, churches, schools and civic clubs (with 20 or more attendees) throughout the year. These speakers are provided free of charge. Topics include:

  • ADHD
  • Autistic disorder  
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Depression
  • Difficult students
  • Foster Care Services
  • Schizophrenia
  • Postpartum depression/psychosis
  • Mental illness (Adults/Children and Youth)
  • Mental health issues for geriatrics
  • Mental health problems in veterans returning from Iraq/Afghanistan
  • Mental health issues due to physical disorders such as cancer, heart disease, or strokes
  • Mental illness and substance abuse
  • Responding to trauma (church shooting, school shooting, 9/11), what to tell your children
  • Risks of violence in mentally ill persons
  • How trauma impacts a mentally ill person
  • Incarceration of mentally ill persons
  • Homelessness and mental illness
  • Substance Abuse (Adults/Children and Youth)
  • Problem Gambling
  • Getting help: resources for mental health, substance abuse, mental retardation, developmental disability, social services, primary care for mentally ill persons, government agencies for assistance, benefits, or protective services
